There is no such thing as a perfect partner. Therapists are real people. The therapist / client relationship is real. There is trust, vulnerability, and a closeness that can turn into fantasy.

Can you date your childs therapist?
There arent official guidelines about this for therapists. The answer is technically yes, but its generally inadvisable. (To be fair, Im not talking about sending an old therapist an update on how youre doing every once in a while.
Is it OK to not tell your therapist everything?
You should know that therapists are required to keep the things you tell them confidential– with a few exceptions. For example, if they have reasonable cause to suspect youre a danger to yourself or someone else they may need to involve a third party to ensure everyones safety.
