Depending on your needs, the massage therapist will massage either the full body (except private areas) or only specific areas that need attention, such as especially tight muscles. Remember to breathe normally. Table massage usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes.
What should I expect for my first massage?
A 60 minute full body massage typically starts with a head & scalp massage to get you relaxed. Then, they will work the neck and shoulders, move on to each arm, and work their way to the legs & feet. Next, you will flip around on the massage table and they will work on the back of the legs and potentially the glutes.
What will a client feel after a massage?
Immediately after the session most people feel relaxed, less stressed, and frequently like they need a nap. Some people feel invigorated and want to do something active, and others are very spacy for a while.
Should I shower after a massage?
During the massage, your therapist will probably use a variety of oils or lotions. A warm shower after a massage can be wonderfully soothing. Since massage oils and lotions are meant to do most of their work during the massage, not after it, you dont have to skip the shower for fear of washing away skin-friendly oils.
